ORANGE SELENITE Companion Stone, Palm Stone Selenite is composed of calcium sulfate dihydrate (meaning that it has 2 molecules of water). It contains no significant selenium, in case you were wondering. The name "Selenite" comes from an ancient greek word for the moon, and is named for the goddess Selene, recognized to imbue the power of healing moonlight into your body for greater mental health and a strong connection to spiritual realms. Selenite takes many forms including wonderful shapes and even giant crystals, some 60 feet in length and weighing 55 tons (in Mexico's Naica Mine Cave of the Crystals). Selenite is the ideal stone for clearing and cleansing and makes an excellent companion stone to remove blockages preventing the flow of good energies. The stones are fairly large, which is a good thing for selenite companion stones as for Selenite, bigger is better. You will receive one stone. The color is kind of a peach color and stones in this lot range from light peach orange to lighter peach orange. The fibrous nature of the selenite crystals gives it a subdued sparkle. Like most stones, inherent cracks or fissures will be present. These will not normally cause fracturing of your stone, but please do not use it as a hammer. See the photo for size and shape.
