The Knappenwand in Austria is without a doubt the most famous locality worldwide for Epidote, and also a classic locality, with the first finds made as far back as 1865. Over the years, during the 2000's, renewed efforts have been made to rejuvenate the older locality, but success has been sparse, despite huge efforts.
